The University of PA was looking for ways to spruce up and brand some existing spaces in old, historic buildings to make them more exciting for incoming students, and yet protect the various architectural surfaces from damage. One space was a common area now being used as an arcade, another was building with a café, a lobby, and cultural common space, and another space was a student government office suite.
For the murals, we used some removable materials and some materials meant for longer term, and installed everything. In one area, we used a writable chalk wall. In another area we installed interior hanging banners.
